About the VMSW

VMSW is the Flemish Social Housing Company. Within the policy domain of the Town and Country Planning, Housing Policy and Immovable Heritage (RWO), the VMSW constitutes an external autonomous agency. The VMSW came into being from the former Flemish Housing Company (VHM). On 30 June 2006 and 7 July 2006, the Flemish Government applied a number of decisions in order to finalize this transformation. This change fits within the framework of the Better Administrative Policy (BBB), the general reorganization effort by the Flemish authorities.
