Mission and vision

Mission of the VMSW

The VMSW attempts to make social housing possible.

Therefore it stimulates, supports, supervises and finances local social housing stakeholders in order to realize and maintain affordable and high-quality housing projects.

Vision of the VMSW

The VMSW fulfils an important role within Flemish social housing policy.

  • The VMSW represents itself as a knowledge- and service centre for the practical, high-quality and cost-efficient implementation of social housing;
  • The VMSW strengthens its strategic relationship with local social housing stakeholders by setting up itself  as an expert partner in the realization and management of social housing projects;
  • From this position, the VMSW offers support in policy planning;
  • The VMSW also participates directly in carrying out government policy by providing mortgage loans and establishing infrastructure.
